In which there are baby germ infected thank yous

This morning as I write this I’m feeling all full of blech and blargh and meh. I don’t heart being sick very much. But then, I remember the War of the Worlds movie, the old one, and the newer one, and how those aliens would’ve taken over the whole planet…

except they got some blargh and meh…
and they didn’t have our immunities…
so they didn’t take over the world.

So I’m thankful…

#774… for these little antibodies, and other immune system type things that are working now in my body so that I can still conquer the world…later.

And then of course there is how I got sick. It was my adorable little almost two year old germ factory of a niece. Remember when I asked for advice on how to help my sister who’s nearing birth of twins?

#775… I heart all the amazing advice you all gave me. You guys know stuff!!

Anyway I’ve had some meaningful babysitting time with my adorable germ factory niece and her perpetually runny nose. Her cute little baby germs got all over me everything we played with, and my hair, and on my clothes. And it turns out baby germs are just as nasty as “big girl” germs. I’m not thankful for that. But I am thankful for…

#776… my niece’s laughter when I threw her up in the air…and caught her.

#777… and the happiness it brought her to knock over my blocks after they reached a certain height.

source

#778…and how saying “banana” just right elicited unstoppable giggles.

Remember that I told you that I wasn’t much of a baby person…
but you all told me that a baby’s smile could win you over…

Well…thankful for…

#779…  how her happiness made me happy.

#780… the thrill there was in finding new ways to make her laugh, and I wonder if it makes God a little bit happy when he does things that make us happy.

Oh, and there was a football game yesterday…

So I’m thankful…

#781… that I got to watch it with my brother and two nieces that DO speak in full sentences and didn’t have baby germs

#782… that my nieces with no baby germs missed their uncle and ran to hug me – and then washed their hands.

#783… that my team won. It’s nice when your team wins.

#784… that funny commercials are funnier when they are watched with people you love.

source

That’s it. Nothing deep. Nothing uber-spiritual, just some baby germ filled smiles and thank you’s.

Oh…and…

#785…I’m thankful you came here to read. I heart that!

All thank you’s are deep. Deep from the heart and that’s what matters. And the joy that comes from being with a child is the same joy Jesus experienced with the little ones he blessed on his knee. So glad you had such a great time. Blessings to you! Hope you are better quickly.

Amen Christina, and that IS true – I hope I didn’t come across as spiritually snobby – that would be bad! And I’llheal – just not quickly – the sleep thing prohibits that – but it is what it is – they were cute germs anyway! God bless you my friend.

Oh and you inspired me to start my own thank you list today. So thank you for doing that.

Blargh and meh. That made me laugh out loud and for that I am grateful. Next time the aliens invade I will have to remember to just drive the bus full of elementary kids and all their assorted germs that they are so willing to share, right at them!

I’m not anti-cat, but my favorite commercial was the Doritos one where the dog bribed his owner not to tell he’d killed the cat.

It is good to “see” you laughing. Have a blessed week. :)

yes, a school bus full of elementary school kids should do! (ツ) and I am very pro-cat, and I still laughed at that commercial – maybe the dog didn’t kill the cat – maybe he just “relocated” him (ツ) good to “see” me laughing too. Thank you Stacy – God bless you!

they were cute little germs – with bows and curls and stuff – but they were effective! And now I have proven I can entertain a toddler – we’ll see what happens when the newborns come – stupid germs! God bless you Debbie (ツ)

you know that sketchers was originally planning to air a sultry Kim Kardashian commercial – but substituted this one at the last minute – I read that on the Internets today so it must be true (ツ) I’m thinking that if I continue to babysit – I’ll build up immunity to baby germs – I’m hoping at least (ツ) as I said in another comment – at least they were cute germs! God bless you Steph

I’m sorry you’re sick – me too. We are passing it among each other after guess what? A packed birthday party to Chuck E Cheese! So we love on each other, play with the same toys that the germs stick to and pass them.

Yes!!! love this. I can just picture Him up there, whispering to the angels, or the Son, watch this – “she is gonna love this!”

Feel better soon!!

I think we forget sometimes – I know I forget sometimes, that God does like to make us happy – he does want us to be happy – it’s much more important for him that we’re content in whatever state – but I think God hearts happy (ツ) anyway, thank you, hopefully the cute little germs will leave soon. God bless you and yours Kelly!

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, more angelic than the delighted laugh of child! Sorry about the germs, Craig, but glad to know how thankful you are in all things. Hope you are feeling much better soon!
Happy for your team, too!
May God bless you!

they do have their moments Martha – but full sentences – that’s not too much to ask is it? And all the mood swings – and all of those horrible cute germs! I hope I recover soon – but the sleep thing doesn’t allow for that – this will linger for a while no matter what I do. I’ll deal. And the Giants aren’t my team – I’m a Jets fan – but yes – it was nice still. I was a Brooklyn baby. God bless you Martha!

Do you know what, Craig? Your comments column is so long that it takes about 10 seconds for me to go back up to your text each time I forget something and have to go back up. I’ve been back up 3 times now. Whew!

I loved #782 that your two nieces who talk full sentences missed you and ran to you when they saw you and washed their hands afterwards. I laughed out loud at that one!
Not that they missed you, but that they washed their hands afterwards. It’s so great that you are finding joy in the toddler. They are wonderful (I didn’t think so as a mom, but I really like toddler grandchildren.) Too much of a good thing?

It was good being by your “cyber-place” today,
Dawn

Sorry Dawn ツ

I’ve watched TV with those nieces – and together we’ve watched that commercial about washing your hands because of germs – I love my nieces – I love them even more because they washed their hands! ツ

And it’s always good to have you here – I heart having you here!!!!! Just keep the muttlies at home ツ

I loved that New York won too especially considering they really shouldn’t have. :)

Good for you spending time with your little niece. OK, next time, lots of hand washing and if you have hydrogen peroxide and qtips…swab your nostrils when you get home and that should kill the germs. Eventually you will become a little more immune, but it’s still good to be as germ free as possible, especially after the babies come.
I loved all your thank yous…especially 780. I’ve had that thought a lot, how God delights in our delight.
I really enjoyed reading this one.
